In order to achieve the highest standard regarding lightfastness, resolubility and stability, Schmincke's HORADAM® use the best raw materials available. There is no compromise in quality - the highest standards of artists' pigments allow the highest level of lightfastness. Schmincke's HORADAM® binding medium is Kordofan Gum Arabic from the Sahara region, due to it differing from year to year it is tested and the best of the batch is selected to used with their pigments. They use an optimal amount of oxgall to avoid undesired coloured formations and undissolved pigment, allowing the perfect flow of colour.

Rooted in 1783 London and named after George Rowney the company’s founder, Georgian Oil Colours from Daler-Rowney enrich contemporary artistic expression through modern and brilliant colours, optimal pigment loads and a very satisfying feel under both brush and knife. Traditionally crafted and triple-milled in England, Georgian Oil Colours provide colour consistency from wet to dry and even performance and finish across all colours. Due to their careful formulation, Georgian Oil Colours generally require very limited quantities of mediums so can be used freely straight from the tube allowing the artist to concentrate on spontaneous creativity.Available in 54 colours.

Renesans GOUACHE are easy to use thick and well-covering paints, which produce a flexible but still water soluble layer. Besides pigment, the production of gouache involves kaolin and other raw materials to make the paint well-soluble. Our gouache is held together with gum arabic and produces a thick and opaque layer on dry or damp paper. It can be applied with aerographs to produce exceptionally saturated and smooth surfaces. Gouache also goes well with other techniques, including watercolours, acrylics, sketching, which is why it is very popular among designers and illustrators. After drying, all temperas considerably brightens and fades, so it is recommended to use liquid agents to preserve and intensify the colour.
